1st Congressional District Promary: Cicilline vs. Gemma

Newsmakers 12/22: David Cicilline

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — This week on Newsmakers: Congressman David Cicilline. The embattled first-term Democrat discusses the standoff between the House and Senate over extending the payroll tax cut, blaming House Republicans' intransigence and explaining why he thinks an extension is necessary. The congressman offers his take on the recent redistricting fight that saw him in a surprising public battle with his counterpart Congressman Jim Langevin. Cicilline also discusses his tenure as mayor, including whether there was enough oversight of the Providence Community Action Program and what should be done about the city's pension system.
