Court denies manual recount in disputed primary

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) -- The Rhode Island Supreme Court has ruled against a General Assembly candidate who lost his Democratic primary by a single vote.

Earlier in the week, Carlos Tobon and the ACLU asked the court to demand a manual recount after Tobon lost to longtime Pawtucket Rep. William San Bento.

The ACLU tells us that the justices ruled against the request for a recount by a vote of 3 to 2 Friday afternoon.
