WPRI 12 will air three major debates in prime time, all on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Here’s the schedule:

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – From the most talked about issues to the most talked about local races, so much is at stake for Rhode Island’s voters. To help give viewers insight into the candidates and the issues, Eyewitness News will continue its Campaign 2012 coverage with the most comprehensive debate schedule in Rhode Island.
The first debate will air on Tuesday, October 9th from 7pm to 8pm on Fox Providence. In a special edition of Newsmakers, two candidates in the race for Rhode Island’s 2nd Congressional District will face off. Moderated by Target 12 Investigator and Newsmakers host Tim White, viewers will see Congressman Jim Langevin and challenger Michael Riley debate on a variety of issues.
On Tuesday, October 16th, Eyewitness News will broadcast Campaign 2012: Congressional Debate. Eyewitness News and The Providence Journal are teaming up to present the first live televised debate between Congressman David Cicilline and challenger Brendan Doherty in District 1. Campaign 2012: Congressional Debate will be broadcast live at 7pm on WPRI 12 and online at wpri.com.
This debate will be moderated by Target 12 Investigator and Newsmakers host Tim White. He will be joined by Providence Journal Deputy Editorial Pages Editor Edward Achorn and wpri.com reporter Ted Nesi. The debate will be broadcast live from the Providence Performing Arts Center, 220 Weybosset Street.
After the televised portion of the October 16th debate, there will be thirty minutes of additional live coverage on wpri.com. During this half hour, candidates will answer questions previously submitted by viewers. Viewers can submit their questions on wpri.com.
Then, on Tuesday, October 23rd, Eyewitness News and The Providence Journal will host Campaign 2012: US Senate Debate, with Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and challenger Barry Hinckley going head to head on the issues. This debate will be broadcast live from the Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Rhode Island College. The Nazarian Arts Center is located at 600 Mt. Pleasant Avenue in Providence.
This debate will also be moderated by Target 12 Investigator and Newsmakers host Tim White. He will be joined by Providence Journal Political Columnist Edward Fitzpatrick and wpri.com reporter Ted Nesi.
The October 16th and October 23rd debates will air live on WPRI 12 from 7pm to 8pm and will be simulcast on wpri.com. Information about tickets to the live debates can be found at wpri.com.
