PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI)- The city of Providence is expected to get a big economic boost this week.
The "Netroots Nation" conference kicks off Thursday at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
Thousands of political activists, journalists and bloggers are scheduled to attend.
According to the Associated Press, Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman, activist Van Jones and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman are scheduled to speak at the event.
